EDIUS X marks the beginning of a new era in non-linear editing. EDIUS X comes with a completely redesigned cpore engine along with a modular concept that enables even more performance for fully customizable works.

EDIUS Workgroup contains all the features of EDIUS Pro and supports the same plug-ins and hardware, but offers additional features and benefits.

For nearly two decades, EDIUS has been known for its stability, benchmark performance, and creative tools. • Background rendering: EDIUS X will never ask you to interrupt your editing so that a process can finish. This makes your workflow smooth, creative, and virtually unstoppable.
• Background export: The new background rendering engine is also great for exporting files. You'll never have to stop working while exporting.

• GIU color: EDIUS X comes with a refined GUI in a slightly darker color. This makes editing even more comfortable with a fresh new look.
• Draft Preview: with EDIUS X, EDIUS X Pro now also includes Draft mode ("Draft Preview"), which allows real-time playback of as many tracks as you want.
• 8K support: EDIUS X Workgroup allows project configuration and file export in up to 8K.
• Optimized performance: EDIUS X is all about performance and future-proof design. EDIUS X requires Windows 10 and makes optimal use of advanced technology. This includes hardware acceleration provided by Intel QuickSync, as well as extensive GPU support. The new modular design allows the potential of multi-core CPUs to be used more efficiently than ever before.

EDIUS X comes with three new modules to optimize audio, title creation, and video effects. All modules are specially customized to take advantage of the new design features of EDIUS X.
These are:

• Audio optimization: EDIUS X comes with the exclusive EDIUS Editions from Acon Digital: Compress EE, DeNoise EE, DeVerberate EE, and Limit EE. These powerful and easy-to-apply audio filters work like a Swiss Army knife when an editor needs to work on audio and VA track correction and optimization.
• Professional titles: EDIUS X includes NewBlue Titler Pro 7 in a special customized version of EDIUS X that includes an expanded template package. This ensures maximum stability and performance. Titler Pro 7 offers new handling and design features for professional titling, animated graphics, rolling titles, and lower thirds.
• Seamless video effects and transitions: EDIUS X includes proDAD Vitascene V4 EDIUS Edition, which features over 100 seamless transitions. All presets can be customized and adapted to the user's individual sequences. Seamless transitions also work great for animating titles and graphics. In addition, proDAD Vitascene V4 EDIUS Edition includes over 250 fantastic filters and transitions from Vitascene 3 LE.

With the upcoming releases of EDIUS 10.x, Grass Valley will continuously update and enhance EDIUS X with new features and workflow options with each free update during the software's two- to three-year lifecycle. As EDIUS X is a milestone and the first release of Grass Valley's new generation of NLE, users can expect not only new features, but also expanded and all-new workflow options. Planned free updates will include:

• Teamwork Edition - including content and project sharing.
• Enhanced workflow options using the cloud.
• Intelligent metadata management for optimized media management.
• Auromatic diagnosis and optimization of audio clip volume.
• Enhanced SDK and Rest-API for third-party developers enabling seamless integration

The enhanced SDK will make EDIUS 10.x a perfect partner to complement solutions that enable tight and deep integration. This will also allow cloud services to be included, leveraging machine learning capabilities. Third-party solutions will also be able to communicate with EDIUS X via the new Rest-API, enabling custom applications and further expanding the possibilities. Cloud-based machine learning capabilities could include future tasks such as audio transcription or offering object recognition services combined with automated metadata tagging and exchange with EDIUS, Mync, and other compatible MAM systems via the new EDIUS X Hub.
